'LA VOZ KIDS': BOY WAS MOVED BY SINGING TO HIS MOTHER WHO DIED OF VIOLENCE

 Camilo Montoya was in charge of opening the blind auditions for the first chapter of La Voz Kids, which was filled with a lot of nostalgia . His story moved the entire country.

Camilo Montoya, 10, was the first boy to go on stage. The little boy, a native of Apartadó, Antioquia, is the son of a couple of ex-combatants. His life story moved the coaches, who couldn't help but cry when they heard it. The boy interpreted Sad Story, by Rodrigo Montoya, a song that he composed, with the help of his father, for his mother, who died a victim of the armed conflict, in the middle of a bombing.“Quiero la paz para mi Colombia, no quiero ver más niños huerfanitos” says part of the song.

The first to turn his chair around was Nacho. Next, Kany García and lastly, Andrés Cepeda. His presentation moved them so much that the three of them got up from their chairs and went to hug him.

With a broken voice, Cepeda told him:“Es un gusto para nosotros que estés acá, que hayas escogido esa canción tan linda que le hicieron con tu papi a tu mamá, nos llegas al corazón. Nos recuerdas algo muy importante, y es que en medio de tanto dolor que hemos sufrido, también hay esperanza, hay esperanza en niños como tú, en gente como tu papá, en los que quieren que en este país no haya más guerra, y nos recuerdas también que la música es un camino para que los niños se alejen de la guerra y puedan cantar cosas bonitas… Gracias por eso”.

For his part, Kany García told him:“aunque no esté presente físicamente, tu mamá está hoy aquí y está presente contigo siempre y cada vez que la cantes y la recuerdes, nunca dudes que está siempre”.

Before Camilo decided who to go with, Nacho added:“tú puedes transformar lo que ha sucedido en tu familia para algo positivo, espero que lo entiendas muy bien y lo aceptes bien”.

Finally, the little boy decided to stay with the Cepeda team. Everyone celebrated his decision with applause and cheers.
