WOWAN SENTENCED TO 3 YEARS OF SUSPENDED LIBERTY FOR CREATING A FAKE FACEBOOK ACCOUNT

The Public Ministry reported, through its official Twitter account, that a woman is sentenced to three years and 20 days of suspended imprisonment for creating a false Facebook account. In this way, Naditza Minelly Acasiete Barrios is sentenced for the continued crime against public faith in the form of identity theft, for which she has to comply with rules of conduct and pay civil compensation to the victim. The defendant admitted her responsibility for having created a false profile on the social network Facebook and accepted the figure of early termination.

At the hearing, the magistrate supported his accusation and indicated that the sentenced person used the name of Carmen Rosa Herrera Vega, who suffered the unauthorized blocking of her telephone line. The victim became aware of the problem through her relatives, who realized that a Facebook profile account was circulating that used her name and personal photos of her.

The prosecutor presented several elements of conviction, such as the results of the lifting of the communications requested from the social network, the telephone recordings and the conservation of the false profile.
